The desire for the sequel of MONOPHON’s hit potentials, “Protection”, “Secret Island” and “Echo” finally comes to an end the release of their first album, “MAKEUP AND BEAUTY”, coming January 20th. With synthie-sounds, the Band from St. Gallen takes their listeners to places of completeness and desire, of beauty and illusion.
“Where we’re going to, what we’re living for, when we know who we are“ – these are teenage-fears knock at the door. The urgency for departure and the longing for arrival are deeply embedded in each of the vigorous beats and in each tone of MONOPHON’s debut album. With associative lyrics and emotional music, the band strives to look behind the curtain, realness and the truthfulness of our world. “MAKEUP AND BEAUTY” is the soundtrack for all those who would have chosen the red pill. The album reflects the characteristics of the four band members, making every song unexpected and surprising. Yet all songs doubtlessly belong together. On MONOPHON’s firstling they present themselves as sovereign ridge walkers between standards and stand outs. Front man Björn Bless says, “With our album we show all our facets – we like to experiment and sometimes are astonished what kind of songs we conjure. Nevertheless each single song is Monophon. Just as diverse as our days are and as versatile as we are”.
