«Protection» gains attention

March 25^th 2011 Monophon launched their first single «PROTECTON» as a pioneer to their debut album, to be released on January 20^th 2012. The single won great popularity and was played several times by radio stations like DRS3. The band hits the sound of modern times, finding sympathetic ears of the Swiss music scene with their spherical music and pounding beats. The four-headed band, coming from the St. Gallen Region, already proved that they can rock the audience with their song «Captain Future».

With their single «Protection», launched in March, Monophon gained huge attention from Swiss radio stations. «SECRET ISLAND» is the name of their second single, released June 29^th – a sound experience being as strong as Protection.

Monophon publishes the first 3D-animated Video-Clip in Switzerland «SECRET ISLAND», taking the audience on a journey between dream world and reality. A journey between the past and future, but keeping us in the presence at any time. In three minutes the familiar spherical sounds are perfectly visualized, arousing longings lying in all of us.

Monophon at the Open Air St. Gallen – They came, played and conquered

Monophon, the band from St. Gallen, opened this year’s Open Air St. Gallen creating a perfect prelude for the festival lovers at the three-day-highlight. Being the only regional band, they shared the stage with Fanta 4, Elbow and Linkin Park, justifiably earning attention with their music.

Monophon had the honor to open the sold out festival on the main stage in the Sittertobel. Right from the beginning they rocked the audience, making them dance with their pounding beats and spherical sounds by playing songs like Captain Future, Protection and Secret Island. Monophon not only thrill the cult following fans, but repeatedly astonish new audiences with their music. Therefore it is not surprising that Monophon plays «kicker» backstage with Manchester’s celebrities Elbow, and at least in that respect, setting them on an equal footing. Björn Bless uttered, «Getting compliments from such great musicians and spending the evening with them and having great fun is just incredible. Simply WOW.»

Monophon will play at «Das Festival» in Schaffhausen, prior to the rock giants Duran Duran. With their new single «Secret Island», we will not only hear but also see more of them. There’s a club tour scheduled for fall, giving the band great joy and motivation to rock the club scene.

«ECHO» – a cry into the distance and back

«Echo» is the name of the Monophon’s new single with unique sounds, living directly up to the success of «Secret Island». Having characteristics of the 80s, the song’s electro-beats satisfy the desire for a Disco-Glam needed to dance all night.

A constant beat, synthie-sounds and a voice wistfully shouting «Echo». The new single of St. Gallen’s newcomers is a call for conceivability in times of information overload. A call for realness in times of inconceivability. It’s a longing for time and gradualness contrary to the rapidness of everyday life.
